Visa

Important!

Start your visa extension process at least 1 month before it expires.

E-9 Visa Extension

1. Required Documents:

  • • Passport and copy
  • • Employment contract (고용계약서)
  • • Alien Registration Card
  • • Company seal (회사도장)
  • • Standard Employment Contract
  • • Passport size photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm)

2. Where to Go:

Immigration Office (출입국관리사무소) — find the nearest one to you.

Seoul: Mokdong, Sejongno, Seongbuk

Gyeonggi: Suwon, Ansan, Uijeongbu

3. Fees:

Visa extension: 100,000 won

Alien Card reissue: 30,000 won

4. Process:

  • • Prepare your documents
  • • Visit the Immigration Office (online booking: hikorea.go.kr)
  • • Take a number and wait
  • • Submit your documents
  • • Wait 2–3 weeks and collect your new Alien Card

D-4 / D-2 Student Visa

For studying at a university or language institute:

  • • Admission letter from your institution
  • • At least 10,000,000 won in your bank account
  • • Apply at the Korean Embassy in your home country
  • • Register for Alien Registration within 90 days of arriving in Korea
